THE MOUNTS VOICE

The documentary and cultural project is built around the dramatic events of the fires that hit Mount Pisano. Calci - September 24, 2018.
Vicopisano - February 25, 2019.

An extensive and detailed high-definition photographic and video documentation that has an artistic, technical, scientific, cultural and documentary high value; an understanding general area of about 1800 hactares; the scenario has suffered strong modifications of the environment and productivity. The documentation has been realized in a time range of more than one year and has not been accomplished yet.

The ongoing of the documentation is due to both my personal strong will and my the narrative need to extend it during the coming next seasons; therefore to came along to document the natural growth and the modifications made by human interventions for safety measures, old and new are still ongoing.
The Project, in all its aspect and several documentary directions and in its various documentary and narrative directions, pierces us by showing the devastation generated by the fire; the transformation of places; the proximity of fire to dwellings; the places of the heart; the shock and attachment of its inhabitants; the great activity come in public and administration fielded; the intense human energies dedicated the massive safety measures and reclaiming executed; the unexpected terracing up until now buried under the thick vegetation and lost in the memories of past generations that today tell the Mount's history; and finally the power of nature with its colors teaches us that tomorrow is a new day, a good day to rise again.

The large perspective of this project is called "The Mounts Voice", a multi-disciplinary endeavour under the patronage of the Municipalities of Calci and Vicopisano.
For the future final publishing phase the project includes a traveling museum exhibition of high-resolution color print; a documentary; several video/installation work; a large hardcover book (bilingual edition); interactive website and map.
